The applications in this suite are outstanding! With the landing page builder, and my existing PPC marketing techniques, I've managed to increase my income by 25% in the first week alone. I also used link exchange to get some of my white hat sites indexed in hours! Powerful tools and very impressive results!

It makes sense for them to purposely patent technology they are not using or have no intention of using. Similarly, it wouldn't make sense for them to disclose highly valuable information that could be exploited by SEOs, or reverse-engineered by other SEs.

anty, not quite the whole picture. Domain age, incoming links are the reason I don't get as much traffic as wikipedia. I can almost guarantee that if my wiki clone were on an aged domain with more trust than wikipedia that I could outrank them for their own articles. Again though, there is more at work than that.

I put up a few sites with exactly the same content and have been building them both up. They are exactly the same site on different domains. Seems that google will not allow both of them to rank well for the same term. They both rank well for different terms, but in theory they both should rank for all the terms as they are the same site!

This has given me some proof in that there is some form of duplicate measure out there.

Also on my blog network where i post the same article to many blogs generally only one of them will make it to the top positions but all for different terms.

How much duplicate content would one have to have for Google to catch it? I am guessing the author's wiki copy only gets a few thousand hits per day because his sites have low page rank.

Wiki must have a very high page rank.

If I where a SE, I would compare not my 8 billion index with each site, but take popular keywords and compare my search results with each other. Given the fact that I barely see 100% identical content in the top SERPs I think they're already doing this. This makes duplicate content worthless if you want to rank for the same phrase on popular keywords.

This would also explain why you only get 3-5k visitors a day when wikipedia gets millions...
